What you should do after fire and smoke damage occurs:
- Limit or eliminate movement in the home to prevent soot particles from being embedded into upholstery and carpets.
- Turn electricity off and empty freezer and refrigerator and prop doors open.
- Clean and protect chrome with light coating of Vaseline or oil.
- Take plants out of your home and Wash then on both sides of leaves.
- Change HVAC filter.
What not to do after a fire
- Don't attempt to wash any walls or painted surfaces or shampoo carpet or upholstery without contacting your Flood Fix Fast Expert. You will ruin your carpet and upholstery and your insurance company will NOT work with you which means all the cost will be left for you to pay.
- Don't attempt to clean any electrical appliances, that may have been close to fire, heat or water.
- Don't turn on any ceiling fixtures if ceiling is wet. The wiring may be damaged.
- Don't take any clothing to an ordinary dry cleaner. Improper cleaning may set smoke odor.
- Don't use any canned food or beverages that may have been stored near the fire.
